About Us

A poet's dream,
made into daily work

Bharathiyar Makkal Nalvalvu Sangam (BMNS) is a non-profit, voluntary organization serving communities across Tamil Nadu since 1998. We work closely with government departments, corporate partners, educational institutions, healthcare professionals and local communities to implement welfare programmes that bring lasting social change — because every individual deserves access to quality healthcare, education, livelihood opportunities and social justice, regardless of their economic or social background.

To build an inclusive, healthy, educated, and self-reliant society where every individual has equal opportunities to live with dignity, security, and sustainable livelihoods.

"The crow and the sparrow are our kin; the wide sea and the mountains are our family." Bharathiyar saw no stranger anywhere. Registered as a society in 1998 (Reg. No. 46/1995), our Sangam works from Salem across Dharmapuri, Namakkal, Erode and Viluppuram — and has been honoured with the UNDP Award, the National Youth Award and a Ministry of Environment prize for environmental work.

BMNS operates a Ministry of Tribal Affairs sponsored Ten-Bedded Hospital and Mobile Medical Units providing affordable, accessible healthcare to tribal and remote communities in Salem District. Our dedicated healthcare professionals ensure essential medical care reaches people in difficult-to-access areas.
